About the Restaurant:

Hayashi Modern Japanese Cuisine Cedar Park opened its doors in mid-June of 2008. We are located in the heart of Cedar Park at the 1890 Ranch Center. You can find us next to the Cinemark Movie Theater. We also have a location in Georgetown in the Wolf Ranch Shopping Center.

We're opened for lunch and dinner. Fortunately for you we're open later than most restaurants in the Cedar Park area. Check out our hours!

We have a full U-Shaped bar if you're looking to grab a quick drink. We have a full bar with a delectable selection of sakes, wines, liquors and several Japanese beers on tap.

For the young ones (21+) and the young at heart folks the weekends are a treat. In the evenings play a variety of songs from 70s to 90s to the latest billboard toppers. After 10pm the entertainment level heats up, literally. We have a flame thrower bartender. He does tricks with liquor and fire that will leave you in awe. If you're feeling bold try our famous Flaming shots. Why go downtown when you can come to Hayashi. We're all about keeping it fun and upbeat.

About the Owner

Executive Chef Cheng Lin has always had a talent for delighting others with his unique recipes and inventive Asian-fusion cuisine. As the owner and executive chef of Hayashi Sushi and Grill in Central Texas, Lin has had many opportunities to demonstrate his culinary mastery, and has garnered a growing fan base. With the opening of the second Hayashi location in Cedar Park, this skilled first-rate chef is bringing his unique style of fine Asian cuisine to a new generation of diners, and elevating the sophistication, talent and creativity of the Central Texas dining scene in the process.

Originally from Eastern China, Lin's inherent abilities and deep-rooted passion for cooking were apparent at a young age. And it was his flair for creating simple yet flavorful food that afforded him the rare opportunity to train under some of Japan's most noted culinarians including Chef Taka san, the acclaimed Japanese chef known best for his articulate, traditional style. Lin's culinary skills and imagination only continued to grow thereafter, and his experience devising innovative and delightful cuisine was honed while working at some of the most popular and successful Asian eateries in the United States.

Lin's years spent traveling the country, working as a chef in top restaurants from coast to coast helped inform his distinctive culinary vision. From Manhattan's hottest modern sushi house, Haru, to California's wildly popular refined Japanese restaurants, Kabuki and Ebisu, Lin became more and more adept at creating original, contemporary dishes with unforgettable flavor combinations and modern style.

This gifted chef's visionary take on Asian fare is now dazzling Central Texas' most discriminating diners at his two Hayashi Sushi and Grill locations. With an emphasis on natural, healthy ingredients that are fused masterfully with traditional flavors and modern culinary concepts, Hayashi is a restaurant unlike any other. Lin is dedicated to serving up fresh, flavor-rich cuisine, and spends hours in the kitchen every day developing new menu ideas for Hayashi and creating his own tantalizing signature sauces that continue to surprise and charm his diners.

"As a chef, the most enjoyable thing I do is create new ideas for food and come up with ways to use fresh, healthy ingredients and offer new options to the people who come to our restaurants," Lin says. "I want to create an experience for them so that when they try something a little different, they really love it."
